Description of the flag

According to the Santa Fe New Mexican of January 5, 2010: The San Miguel County logo was enhanced in 2010 and a flag was expected to be designed, probably adopted the same year. It is known the courthouse started flying a county flag around 2013. It is white and bears the county seal centered upon it. An image can be seen at https://maps.app.goo.gl/KWoUqWjewCZnrgoNA. The seal, in its outer ring, reads the full county and state name and in between the year of establishment (1844). The innermost area depicts the sky, sun, and clouds over the Sangre de Cristo mountains, a forest; and finally, the Pecos National Historical Park and Montezuma Castle hotel complex separated by a river (now a United World College).

At courthouses.co (https://courthouses.co/us-states/n/new-mexico/san-miguel-county/) we can see a flag in front of the San Miguel County Courthouse, taken in the year 2007. A ray and a circular device can be seen, so it appears it might be the old county flag (displaying an old county logo possibly?). Dates of usage are unclear, but it was used in 2013 at the latest.

The first San Miguel County flag was adopted in 1992 for the unveiling of the county flags in the state capitol. It depicts a double outline of the county, the full county name in a Gothic font, and a Zia sun symbol.
