Municipal flags in Union County:

Although unclear if Union County has adopted a new flag in the courthouse, it is known a flag was adopted for its flying in the New Mexico state capitol in January 1993. The flag depicts presumably an older county logo, contained in a box outlined in black. A pair of cowboy boots are depicted with a shoe spur. Arched above and below are the words forming "UNION COUNTY". Of course, it is symbolic of the fact the area was considered an area of the American frontier, the Wild West.
