Flag

The last municipal flag adopted in 2025 is from one of the newest municipalities! Starbase, formerly Boca Chica Village or Kopernik Shores, is a city in Cameron County, Texas, United States, near the mouth of the Rio Grande.

The flag was adopted only a week after incorporation. Through Resolution No. 2025-05-29-Q05-RE on 29 May 2025, there was discussion about adopting a city website, flag, and logo; a motion being made by Mayor Peden and passing 3-0. As the Resolution reads:
SECTION 4. Flag. The City Commission hereby adopts an official City of Starbase, Texas, flag which shall include the city logo on the flag.
Apparently, the council received input from the residents on the design of the logo and flag. At the moment, I do not know the creator of the logo; but technically speaking it appears that the City Commission designed the flag considering its design which appears to be only the logo.

Unfortunately, although the flag is described, what the flag looks like is not exactly known or if it even exists in actuality.

The logo was adopted only a week after incorporation on 29 May 2025, along with the flag in the same resolution; as the resolution reads:
SECTION 3. Logo. The City Commission hereby adopts the official City of Starbase, Texas, logo which logo is illustrated on the attached and incorporated Exhibit “A”.
A text logo adopted by the City that day reads STARBASE in a simple, spaced out font; particularly it is found on the website. The main logo is circular and can be found at the entrance to the City.

Description of the main logo as follows: It is of a circular format, all in black and white: the outer ring is divided into two halves. The upper half reads "THE CITY OF STARBASE"; the lower-left reads "INC. 2025" and the lower-right reads "TEX. USA". An oval emerging from the inner section cuts into the outer ring at its bottom, and within it a star and interlocking initials reading SB are found. The inner section depicts the same oval, with a rocket emerging and leaving a trail found within it; the rocket clearly represents the main mission of the municipality. Two ovals are found to the sides, further creating the image of the rocket going fast through the air. Serving as the background, numerous small star and circle shapes are found for the area beyond Earth, which is space.
