The circular device bears a scene or item important to the tribe in each
quarter: fiddleheads; a camp scene with mountains, pine trees, a lake, wildlife
and the sun, moon and stars; baskets; and a birch-bark canoe in the river. A
feather is on both sides, and on the flag the word “Maliseet” is below the
device on the flag's blue field.
